Window and door maker Quanex Building Products Corp has purchased the assets of Atrium Windows and Doors Inc.'s Greenville, Texas, plant.

Terms were not disclosed. The assets include six vinyl extrusion lines, according to Houston-based Quanex, a publicly traded company that owns PVC extruder Mikron Industries Inc.

Bill Griffiths, the chairman, president and CEO of Quanex, said the deal is in line with his company’s plan to buy vertically integrated customer assets.

“Additionally, it allows us to expand our product portfolio serving the new construction market and its strategic location increases our manufacturing presence in the southern U.S.,” he said in a news release.

Atrium will continue to extrude vinyl profiles in Welcome, N.C., and St. Thomas, Ontario.

Atrium also has a long-term supply agreement with Quanex, which will continue to extrude proprietary vinyl profile designs for Atrium from the Greenville plant.
